Sketch from the dentist’s office
This was started 8-7-07 and I just finished it now. I started drawing this sketch while at the dentist’s office and I got called in before I was done. Luckily, I took a camera-phone pic of the scene I got called back, so I was able to finish the sketch now from the photo.

Moleskine doodles 8-16-07
Here are two pages from my Moleskine that I did today. One is more of a journal entry w/ a little Pug doodle, the other is a more full-fledged doodle. I need to / want to sit down and concentrate on finishing some sketches that I have started. I really want to finish them and post them.

Is there a word…
Is there a word for “the inability to finish a project”? It’s not procrastinationg, I think that’d be putting off a project entirely. Idunno.
I just went to scan in some drawings and realized that I have WAY more unfinished drawings than finished ones. I gotta stop that. This is nuts!
Anyway, here is ONE finished one I can post… well, is it finished? I actually meant to draw more of this and then I drove away from the area. I DID take a photo but am just unmotivated to draw from the photo (it’s still on the camera). So I decided to write a journal entry next to it instead to fill the page. Stupid, maybe.
This was drawin in my new Moleskine. I decided to try a larger Moleskine sketchbook. I have a few of the small, purse-sized ones that I will ALWAYS carry. I also have a watercolor one that is larger. But I wanted a larger one w/ sketch paper in it. I picked it up the other day and was pleasantly surpised to find it qualified for the tax-free week exemption (for Back-To-School supplies).
This is the back of a Barnes & Noble bookstore.
I’m not the hugest fan of the paper in the Moleskine “sketchbook”. It’s card-like and off-white, which when scanned looks REALLY yellow- especially if you have to boost the contrast to bring out your light sketching. But anyway, there ya go.

Ladybug
As I’ve mentioned before, I concentrate better during a meeting if I can draw while listening. I am sure this is the case for many people, but those that put on meetings (or classes) probably get mad when they see people doodling or drawing. But if I can doodle or draw, I can pay attention to every word said. But if I am forced to “pay attenion” and watch the talker, then first I drift off to thoughts that pop in my head, then daydream, then fall asleep. I wonder how many kids get yelled at for this kind of thing.
This is a ladybug desktop on my Macbook laptop. I drew this during a meeting. Done on 7-28-07.

I’m still here. 8-5-07
I am still here. I have a few partially-finished sketches in various sketchbooks, so if I do any sketching, it depends on which sketchbook I have with me that day. I have not been as prolific w/ my Moleskine, the one that’s always in my purse. Not sure why. No reason, really. I just got back from a long, crazy weekend and this week I have to call the dentist about a tooth, clean the house, get stuff out of the “old” house, and a few other things. I hope I find time to draw!
