Bus Stop, Shopping Cart
I had seen this while waiting at a red light last week. I whipped out my camera and took a very blurry photo so that I could draw it later. I kinda like this. I suppose this could work as EDM #115, “Draw a Shopping Cart”.

Salt Stack
If I can’t find unusual items to draw, sometimes I just make unusual groups of things to draw or take pictures of. (Check out The Society for Putting Things on Top of Other Things on Flickr.

Painting Dogs!
I saw this on CuteOverload.com-
Cute Overload says: “CBS News is reporting that “Sammy” a foxhound mix, is one of three Service Dogs who does abstract (I bet!) painting in Salisbury, Maryland. Apparently, Sammy holds a paintbrush that is attached to a small rubber bone, and paints that way. Check out all their pics… ”

Meeting Doodle 6-16-07
I like to draw or doodle during meetings. As long as I can doodle or draw, I hear every word of the meeting. But if I am forced to put my pencil down and “pay attention”, THEN I’ll drift off into dream world, looking right at the speaker… or fall asleep. Not sure why this is the case. I wonder how many kids get yelled at for not paying attention when in some people’s cases, drawing or doodling HELPS the brain focus on what’s being said.

New Calligraphy Pen
I have been wanting to get a Calligraphy pen. When I was a kid, I used to do Calligraphy a lot. I really enjoyed it. Yesterday I was at a restaurant and went to draw in my moleskine and found I had not one single pen or pencil on me. So after that we went to Barnes and Noble and I got a calligraphy pen to try and another set of those mini colored pencils that come in a CD jewel case, along w/ a pledge to myself to NOT take them out of my purse. Here are just two doodle pages of me trying out the new pen:

Sleeping Pill
Sometimes when I just want one last chance of drawing before the day calls it a wrap, I insist on drawing in bed before dozing off. Most often, this is under the influence of a sleeping pill which can sometimes result in interesting and/or strange drawings, LOL.

Mike’s second salt shaker.
It’s too late at night for this. I wrote a whole post and it disappeared. UNGH! Anyway, like I SAID BEFORE IT GOT EATEN, taking an idea from Dan Price, I often have whoever I am eating with draw the salt shaker at the table in my sketchbook. Here is the second one that mike drew-

Blogging about the blog 08 Jun 2007 11:38 pm
Links, a neat find, and moving.
So far, using del.icio.us is working out great for managing my sidebar links. I just use a bookmarklet to add a link to my blogroll and then it shows up on my links sidebar. Speaking of which, I found a really great art blog today, check it out: http://crackskullbob.squarespace.com Great artwork and very entertaining posts.
Meanwhile, we moved some stuff to the new house today, lots of computer stuff (wires! wires! wires!) and I am BEAT. I’m ready for bed.

I am here, really I am.
I’m still here! I’ve been drawing, I just have not been good about scanning. Also, I have a few drawings that are almost done, so I need to just sit down and finish them. Also, as of today, the internet is turned off at our current house and turned on at the new house (as an incentive to get our *sses moved). So, once I get stuff scanned in, I have to be at the right house before I can upload it.
Anyway, I hope all is well and I am still here, really! In the meantime, you can spy on me via flickr and/or Jaiku.
By the way, I got new glasses, aren’t they artsy and cool?

House and Brush Pens
I felt like messing around with my brush pens / artist’s markers again. I only have a few colors that I got so that I could try them. It’s fun to layer the colors to create different shades. Here, I was just messing around with those markers in my moleskine-
This photo shows the only colors that I have of these pens right now. So layering gives me a few shades of green, etc.

Bamboo with Brush Pens
I spent some time last night playin w/ my artists markers (“brush pens“?) that I got a couple months ago. (I only got a handful of colors to try.)
I love how you can lay a stroke, let it dry, come back and lay down another on top and it’s darker. Not sure if this is a characteristic of just artist markers or markers in general. But I was surprised at how the bamboo came out in this. This drawing is done w/ artist markers and also gel pens-
Here’s another one I did w/ just the brush pens:
These were done in my moleskine. By the way, I filled my second moleskine the other week when I had Jury Duty. I’m now on my third one.
